Is Youbot free?
The self-hosted software is free. You choose your AI provider and pay that provider for usage, or run a local model with Ollama. Cloud hosting is coming soon.
Does my computer need to stay on?
Yes. Self-hosted Youbot responds while your computer is awake, connected and running Youbot. The public relay doesn’t run the AI for you.
Can I choose my AI model?
Yes. Configure your preferred supported provider or a local Ollama model. For tool use, choose a model with the capabilities your concierge needs. Read the AI setup guide.
What stays private?
Your local installation stores your settings and conversations. Online AI providers and connected services receive data needed for their requests, and the relay handles visitor messages. Read about privacy and control.
